Periodontics is a specialized branch within dentistry that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the supporting structures of the teeth, including the gums, periodontal ligament, and jawbone. A Periodontist is skilled in providing both non-surgical and surgical treatments for gum diseases.

The following services provided by our UT Dentists’ Periodontists include but are not limited to the following:

• Diagnosis and Treatment of Gum Diseases

• Deep Cleaning/Scaling and Root Planing

• Gum Surgery

• Dental Implant Placement

Concerns related to gum disease, gum recession, dental implants, or other gum-related issues should be consulted and evaluated by a highly-trained Periodontist.
