Biosketch
Dr. Sahar Dowlatshahi is a board-certified periodontist and dental implant surgeon. She earned her DDS from the University of California, San Francisco and completed her specialty training in periodontology and a Master of Medical Sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Her clinical and research interests include implant dentistry, bone regeneration, the perio-ortho interface, and innovative teaching in surgical education.
In addition to her academic role, Dr. Dowlatshahi maintains an active clinical practice as a periodontist with UT Dentists. She has presented her research at national meetings, serves on several institutional and professional committees, and is the recipient of the 2023 Dr. Colin Richman Perio-Ortho Interface Award.
