Biosketch
Dr. Ontiveros received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he taught in the Division of Esthetic Dentistry. He earned a Master's in Oral Biomaterials from the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Science at Houston. He has authored numerous publications related to esthetic biomaterials and is contributed to multiple textbooks such as Paravina & Powers’ Esthetic Color Training in Dentistry, Greenwall’s Tooth Whitening Techniques and most recently Studevant’s Art & Science of Operative Dentistry. Currently, Dr. Ontiveros is the John M. Powers, Endowed Distinguished Professor in Oral Biomaterials, Head of Esthetic Dentistry at the UT Health School of Dentistry at Houston and Director of the Oral Biomaterials Division for the Houston Center for Biomaterials and Biomimetic. Dr. Ontiveros is a Fellow of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and Vice President & Fellow of the Society for Color and Appearance.
