Dental professionals now have a convenient new resource for diagnostic imaging and radiologic interpretation. UT Dentists Oral and Maxillofacial Imaging is now accepting referrals for a variety of services, including:
- Cone beam CT scans and interpretation
- 2-D extraoral digital radiography (2-D images) and interpretation
- Airway analysis
- Carpal index
- Interpretation of outside images
Once referred for testing, patients visit the UT Dentists practice inside UTHealth School of Dentistry.
UT Dentists Imaging uses a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) to capture, store and share images in electronic health records accessible to the referring doctor through a secure image-sharing portal that is HIPAA-compliant, convenient and accessible on any device, anywhere.
Reports are structured, easy to understand and describe the exam, technique, findings, impression and key images. Interpretations for scans uploaded to the image-sharing portal are usually ready within two business days.
As part of UTHealth, UT Dentists Imaging includes faculty experts in oral and maxillofacial radiology who are educators and researchers, as well as clinicians. Learn more about UT Dentists Imaging at utdentists.com/imaging or 713-486-4444.
