Periodontics is a specialized branch within dentistry that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the supporting structures of the teeth, including the gums, periodontal ligament, and jawbone. A Periodontist is skilled in providing both non-surgical and surgical treatments for gum diseases.
